The euro area's November trade surplus widened strongly supported by exports surge on the back of the euro weakness that dropped nearly 3.0% on the month.

Exports rose a seasonally adjusted 3.9% from October supported the rise in the trade surplus while imports were flat. The seasonally adjusted trade surplus widened to 6.1 billion euros from a revised 500 million euros the previous month from the reported 300 million.

In non-seasonally adjusted terms the trade surplus widened to 6.9 billion euros from a revised 1.0 billion from 1.1 billion euros.
