Euro-Zone consumer confidence holds steady, economic sentiment improves

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Business confidence continues to improve for the European Monetary Union while consumer confidence stays even.

Consumer confidence held steady in December to January at -16. This is slightly below market expectation of an improvement to -15.

Economic sentiment, however, posted a larger-than-forecast gain to 95.7, up from 91.3 the previous month. The market had expected a more modest increase of 92.3.

Industrial confidence also improved to -14 from -16, above estimates of -15.
