FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Retail sales rose by 0.3% in Euro Zone in September, while on yearly basis it increased by 1.6%, according to the latest report by Eurostat.
August's results were downwardly revised to the level of 0.0% from the 0.1% increase originally posted in monthly basis and to the level of 0.8% rise from the 1.0% increase initially estimated on the yearly increase.
Analysts had advanced a higher increase in sales in September, expectations were a rise of 0.5% on the month and a 2.1% rise on yearly basis.
Retail sales of food, drinks and tobacco rose by 0.4% and non food sector sales increased by 0.3% in September. On yearly basis, retail sales of food, drinks and tobacco declined by 0.1% in September, while non food sector rose by 2.5%.
