FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Unemployment has remained unchanged in March in the countries belonging to the Euro Area, at a level slightly lower than those posted in the same month last year, according to the latest labour report by Eurostat.
Seasonally adjusted, the Euro Zone's unemployment level has remained at 7.1% in March, the same rate as in February, and somewhat lower than the 7.5% rate in March 2007. Compared to February, the total volume of unemployed persons fell by 26,000 in the Euro Area. It has declined by 0,6 million in the last twelve months.
Among the member countries, the lowest unemployment level has been registered in The Netherlands, 2.6%, while Spain and Slovakia posted the largest unemployment levels; 9.8% and 9.3% respectively.
