FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Retail sales have declined in the countries belonging to the Euro Zone for their third month in a row, although, this time the monthly decline has been softer than in the previous month, according to data released by Eurostat.
The total volume of retail sales has edged down 0.1% in January from December, while the experts had advanced a 0.2% increase. On the year, retail sales fell 2.0%. For the whole 2007 year, retail trade has grown 0.7% compared to the total retail trade volume reported in 2006.
On the year, food, beverages and tobacco sales have decreased by 2.0%, while non food products sales have fallen 1.9%.
