European consumers, at least those in the continent's two biggest economies, are confident despite the euro zone's sovereign debt crisis, according to two reports released Friday.

French consumer confidence edged up this month to a level not seen since November 2010, the government said. In Germany, a forward-looking survey by the GfK SE institute found that consumer confidence for June was at the same level as May, teh result of optimism about the future and a willingness to buy offset a drop in income expectations.
