Friday, major statistical reports due for the day include Germany's external trade and industrial production. In addition, UK producer prices and Swiss unemployment details are also due.

At 1.45am ET, the Swiss unemployment data is expected. The jobless rate is forecast to rise to 3.5% in April from 3.4% last month. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the jobless rate is seen at 3.4%, up from 3.3% seen in March.

Thereafter, the Destatis is set to release the German external trade data for March at 2.00am ET. The trade surplus is expected to fall to EUR 8 billion from EUR 8.7 billion in February. Meanwhile, the current account balance is forecast to show a surplus of EUR 7 billion compared to EUR 5.6 billion in the previous month.

The Statistics Norway is scheduled to issue details of March industrial production at 4.00am ET. In February, production had increased 2.2% on a monthly basis.

At 4.30am ET, the Office for National Statistics is slated to issue UK's producer prices. After falling 0.4% annually in March, decline in the input price index is seen at 3.5%. At the same time, output prices are forecast to rise at a slower pace of 0.7% versus 2% in March.

The German industrial production report is due from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology at 6.00am ET. Industrial production in March is predicted to decline 20.9% year-on-year and to fall 1.3% on a monthly basis.
