Eurozone retail sales volume dropped 0.6% in February from January, a report from the Eurostat showed Monday. Economists were expecting retail sales to drop 0.4% in February after rising 0.1% in January.

Year-on-year, retail sales slipped 4%, larger than the 1.7% decrease seen in January and 2.5% decline expected by economists.

In the EU27, the volume of retail trade was down 1.2% from the previous month, reversing a 0.7% rise in January. On a yearly basis, sales declined 3.4%.
