FXstereet.com (Barcelona) - Economic activity in the Euro Area manufacturing sector has weakened in December to the lowest level on record, according to the latest Purchasing Manager's Index.

Manufacturing PMI has dropped to 33.9 in December, from 35.6 in November. EuroZone manufacturing sector's activity has remained contracting continuously for the last seven months with the PMI posting readings below 50, the minimum level of growth.

December's reading has been weaker than expected, as preliminary estimations had advanced a 34.5 level.
