Monday, the European Central Bank said interest rates on corporate loans and households declined in March. In case of loans to non-financial corporations for a period of up to one year, the weighted average rate slipped 29 basis points to 4.03% for loan amount not exceeding EUR 1 million.
The weighted average rate on loans to non-financial corporations over EUR 1 million with an initial rate fixation period of more than five years decreased 36 basis points to 3.87%.
The weighted average rate on deposits from households with an agreed maturity of up to one year dropped 38 basis points to 2.24% while the corresponding deposit rate for non-financial corporations fell 22 basis points to 1.39%.
