EV Innovations Inc. (EVII.OB) has taken many steps to introduce its line of electric vehicles (EVs) to consumers. Recent initiatives include targeting drivers at the New York International Auto Show, getting featured on nationally syndicated TV shows, launching an aggressive media marketing campaign and more.

EV Innovations focuses on the development of lithium-powered vehicles and products for a wide range of applications – from scooters and motorcycles, to cars and homes. The company’s line of products centers on its research and production of lithium-powered technology.

While several automakers, including Ford, Mitsubishi, Chrysler and Subaru, plan on pushing their own version of EVs through the assembly lines in the near future, EV Innovations is already ahead of the game. The company opened a wholly owned subsidiary in India last year to take advantage of in-house research, and to utilize India’s network of engineers for development.

Nissan recently announced that by the end of next year it plans on rolling out a five-seat, battery charged electric vehicle in the $20,000-$30,000 price range. The car will be designed to be plugged in during the nighttime, during off-peak energy hours, and will be able to travel for at least 100 miles before needing a recharge. On the other hand, EV Innovations has already manufactured several EVs in the same price range (http://www.hybridtechnologies.com/products).

As EVs plan their comeback, it’s a wonder that so many automakers strayed from green vehicles in the first place, while companies like EV Innovations worked behind the scenes to design and manufacture them day in and day out. Keep your eyes on the road, EV Innovations recently announced it has launched an aggressive media campaign to boost awareness of its innovative and sleek EVs, and may give the bigger automakers a run for their money.
