“The Exorcist” Season 2 just cast Li Jun Li as a series regular.

According to Deadline, Li will play the role of a social worker named Rose. She is assigned to tend to the children in Andrew Kim’s (John Cho) foster home. The very organized Rose will arrive at the foster home to check if Andrew can still take good care of the kids who are under his care.

Rose will also become a maternal figure to the children. She understands what it’s like to grow up without parents since she was a foster kid once herself. However, Rose’s job will prove to be challenging considering her and Andy’s history. Their past will make it difficult for her to stay objective when it comes to her findings.

Li was most recently seen in ABC’s “Quantico,” where she played the role of Iris Chang. Prior to being cast in the drama, Li appeared in “The Minority Report” as a series regular named Akeela. Li also recurred in NBC’s “Blindspot” as Dr. Karen Sun.

Meanwhile, “The Exorcist” Season 2 was surprisingly renewed by FOX in May despite the show’s low ratings throughout Season 1. Even though it’s still too early to predict the show’s fate, executive producer Jeremy Slater and co-executive producer Sean Crouch said that they want “The Exorcist” to last for six to seven seasons.

While at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con (via Screen Rant), Slater said, “You can’t tell a seven-year story about one family that just keeps getting possessed over and over again without the audience starting to hate you for putting one family through so much [stuff]. So the idea is every year we’ll have a different case, we’ll have a different sort of possessed individual and different family, and but it’s Marcus and Thomas – our priests, our recurring characters – that you’re going to follow and have that investment with.”

“Six seasons and a movie. That’s our aim,” Crouch continued, before adding that Season 2 will also center more on the Vatican.

“The Exorcist” Season 2 will premiere on FOX on Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. EST.
