Jaguar, in a much-anticipated announcement, said Wednesday at the New York Auto Show 2012 that it will bring the completely new Jaguar F-Type sports car into production at an accelerated pace and will unveil it later this year.
The core appeal of Jaguar's cars is their sporting heart, and that heart will beat stronger than ever before in the F-Type, said Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar Cars.
TheJaguar F-Type sports car reflects the desire amongst our engineers and design team to produce a world leader in a market segment that we have been absent from for too long, Hallmark said.
The Jaguar F-Type sports car will be an all-aluminum, two-seater convertible, and will be available with several gasoline engines, including a new engine from Jaguar. The Jaguar F-Type is now entering the road testing phase.
Jaguar plans on the F-Type being a successor to the C, D and E-Type cars.
