Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, Thursday played another master stroke to upset the newly launched Google+ by introducing Timeline, Real-Time Ticker and other lifestyle apps.

With the latest bevy of features announced at the annual f8 developers' conference, Facebook will no longer remain merely a social networking site, rather it will penetrate more into the lives of its users and transform itself in to an entertainment hub.

The seven major changes that will certainly change user experience:

Introducing Timelines - Chronicle of Your Life

Facebook introduced Timeline pages that will let the users digitally map and share everything that they have done in their life.

The heart of your Facebook experience, completely rethought from the ground up, Zuckerberg said. Timeline is the story of your life.

While explaining the feature, Zuckerberg demonstrated the chronicles of his life starting from his baby photos to his experience of meeting the U.S. President Barack Obama.

This feature will have three components such as - user's stories, applications and a new way to display user's identity. The technology is emotionally powerful, experts believe.

A Real-time Ticker

Facebook now will have a real time ticker to provide updates about various applications and activities. The ticker will be on the right side of the page. That ticker is a lightweight feed that will not work as a news feed but will provide only the activity updates from people you are subscribed to in real-time.

Open Graph: Share and Stay in Touch with Friends

Open Graph will allow users to share whatever they are doing without interrupting their friends. This new feature ensures that the apps no longer need permission to post content to Facebook repeatedly. Rather one permission screen will hit on your screen the first time you allow a app and the screen will also display the kind of stories would be shared. The permission giving process will take place only once and when completed, the app will no longer ask for permission.

Any update through the new Open Graph will appear in the ticker automatically which will help to discover new content from your friends in real time.

With one click, users can share music through the new Facebook Open Graph and the ticker.

Facebook with Music, Movies and TV Shows

The new movie, music and news app will provide users the freedom to see what their friends are reading, watching and listening to at any point of time and they can share and enjoy the same digital content without leaving the page they are on.

The new app will have a Share Music feature.

Facebook has already tied up with services such as Clear Channel's iHeartRadio and Spotify to share music, and the video contents will be provided by services such as Netflix and Hulu.

News Media - Another Success Key

For latest news updates all you need to do is to check your Facebook account.

Facebook is aiming to build partnership with news giants Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Yahoo and The Daily and other dozens of news organizers.

Currently, the news app will operate on Open Graph.

Lifestyle Apps

Facebook has built partnership with companies like Nike, Airbnb, StubHub and Foodspotting to enable its users to share information about their various activities, such as exercising, cooking, watching TV shows and so on.

This new feature might revolutionize the history of Facebook and certainly benefit the advertisers. Like most other apps, the lifestyle app will be launched on Open Graph.

Social Gaming on Interactive Mode

After launching Sims Social which generated a raving response from the users about a month ago, Facebook is still trying all means to make the gaming experience like never before. The Open Graph platform will provide gaming interaction among real-time users.
