Paramount Pictures' incredibly successful "Paranormal Activity" franchise continues its domination of Halloween-time scares with "Paranormal Activity 4," the trailer for which can be seen here. The latest news regarding the film entails Facebook and Paramount's joint venture in "Demanding" the film be released in select cities early (via Facebook). Viral marketing for the series has paid off in the past, with the original "Paranormal Activity" director Oren Peli encouraging theater-goers to "Demand" the film via the website Eventful.com.

As of this writing, there are just under 50,000 votes for where to bring "Paranormal Activity 4." The top two cities in the running to launch the film early are Lake Bluff, Ill., and Purchase, NY. Typically, the larger, more populated cities will find themselves at the top of the list, with the original film going wide in Chicago and New York, along with 13 smaller cities, as part of Paramount's ingenious marketing ploy. After a million hits and votes, Paramount went wide release with the original film on Oct. 16, 2009.

CHUD.com has posted Paramount's media release, which discusses the Facebook voting, as well as how important it is for the fans of the series to "Demand" the film in their city. Teaming up with Facebook is a smart move, considering the film seems to follow a teenaged protagonist. The trailer is attached to the remake of "Total Recall," which stars Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale.
