Heads up, trainers! To everyone who is currently into “Pokémon Sword” and “Shield,” it was recently confirmed that there is a fake version of a certain Pokémon lurking about in the game and one may easily fall victim to it if not careful enough.

The Pokémon concerned is Polteagesist, a Ghost-type Pokémon that lives in a teapot. Serebii confirmed that there are indeed two versions of this Pokémon in the game. One is an authentic and the other is a fake. Most wild ones one can catch is a fake, they said.

One can verify if the Pokémon they had is a fake or the real one by looking under the pot of the Pokémon. The authentic one should have a small, blue seal while the fake one would not have it. The same goes for its evolved form, Sinistea.

Both Pokémon, however, are usable in the game.

This is something that was already teased within the game. If a player would open and read one of the Pokédex entries, the description reads:

“The teacup in which this Pokémon makes its home is a famous piece of antique tableware. Many forgeries are in circulation.”

In other news, “Pokémon Sword” and “Shield” recently made its mark on the franchise as being the fastest-selling game for the Nintendo Switch so far. According to a tweet by The Pokémon Company, the latest installment in the mainline Pokémon game series made a whopping 6 million unit sold. This number is only for the first week of the game.

Now, though that is indeed impressive for a Pokémon game, it is worth mentioning that these are actually two Pokémon games. They are almost identical to each other but unlike other games for the platform, this particular release actually gave players options to get either one or as many fans did, both.
