The holiday season is upon us and it can be easy to gain weight during this time of year. Following the fall sugar rush that comes along with Halloween, there are increasing opportunities to indulge in delicious foods and decadent desserts on holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas during the winter.

Whether it is hitting the gym or working out at home, there are several exercises to do to get and keep in shape. Below are five exercise tips and challenges to try to keep the weight off during the holiday season.

30 Day Abs Challenge

After eating a hearty meal the first thing you tend to notice is your protruding belly. However, you can easily fix your midsection problems by completing the 30 Day Abs Challenge. The challenge consists of several exercises to complete over the course of 30 days. The exercises will help build the core and strengthen muscles.

7 Day Morning Fitness Challenge

This workout plan is designed to get people pumped up in the morning and keep the energy level high throughout the day. Be sure to warm up and cool down for these exercises. All that is needed for this challenge is a timer and a mat or towel.

28-Day Fit Body Challenge

See results in less than a month by sticking to this body challenge. Designed to sculpt muscle in the legs, arms, glutes, abs and shoulders, this workout will give a body definition as fat is dropped and muscle is added. This workout also involves some cardio so it would be wise to plan for walking time throughout the week.

30 Day Easy Squat Challenge

This challenge will help tone leg and butt muscles. Although there are a specific number of squats to do each day, the exercise can be expanded or reduced daily depending on preference. Be sure to take a before picture to see the progress made at the end of the 30 days.
