No more sitting on the fence! With summer just a short time away,
now is the time to book a family cruise for your summer vacation. While
there are many deals available on most cruises this year due to the
economic climate, the following focuses on those offers especially for
families. From Kids Sail Free to half price offers, you can't go
wrong on these deals that are effective for spring and summer sailings.

Costa Cruises

Cruises is offering its Kids Sail Free (usually offered on its winter
Caribbean cruises) promotion for select Mediterranean departures this
summer. The sailings that still offer Kids Sail Free include: Costa Romantica: June 22, 29; August 3, 17, 31; Sept. 7; Costa Pacifica: July 26; August 2; Costa Concordia: July 10, 17, 24, 31.

Families can couple this with various other offers to make a very
affordable European cruise. These other deals include: fares reduced by
up to 60% on various summer Med routes; free upgrades on select
Northern Europe and Med itineraries; and on board credits of $200 per
cabin on specific Med sailings.

Crystal Cruises

Crystal Cruises' departures offer 50 percent off the minimum fare for
children age 11 and younger traveling in a third berth. Children age 12
years and older traveling in a third berth pay the minimum fare for
that cruise regardless of stateroom category.

In addition, this summer Crystal Cruises is offering savings up to
$1,500 per person on most 2009 European sailings. Depending on the
accommodations, passengers can receive $1,500, $1,000 or $750 per
person off nearly all 11-day Baltic and 12-day Mediterranean cruises,
and half that off most seven-day European sailings. The savings apply
to penthouse, verandah and deluxe staterooms, respectively.

In addition, Crystal Memories plan is available on most sailings and
is applicable to groups of family and friends. For every 10 full fare
guests, the group receives: one free sailing; prepaid gratuities; $100
per person onboard credit for a maximum of two guests per stateroom;
third berth guests 17 years and under sail free; one 8X10 group/family
photo; and one photo of guests' choice per stateroom.

Disney Cruise Line

has sprung and therefore DCL discount sailings have just begun! All
departures between now and May 14 offer half price rates as quoted on for children 12 and under sailing with two full
fare-paying guests in the same stateroom. This offer includes all
three-, four-, and seven-day departures and all stateroom categories.
While the cruise fare for this offer is half off for those under 12
years old, they are still responsible for government taxes and fees.

Holland America Line

America Line's Vacation Stimulus Plan offers significant reductions in
fares; deposits reduced by 50 percent; and a 25 percent savings on its
standard Cancellation Protection Plan. All these incentives are
available on sailings departing after May 1 and throughout 2010.

The line just added a special incentive especially attractive to
families: free or reduced fares for a third or fourth person, often as
low as $99 per person, on select sailings. In addition, no deposits are
required for any third or fourth person booking. However, guests
receiving free third or fourth cruise rates must still pay applicable
government taxes.

MSC Cruises

Cruises has doubly sweetened the pot by offering two great incentives.
As in the past, youths under 17 years old can sail free on all MSC
Cruises departures when sharing a stateroom with two full paying
adults. In addition, for a limited time, MSC Cruises is also offering
free roundtrip airfare from select gateways in conjunction with its
seven-night European cruises this summer. The 2009 Free Europe Air
promotion is available on flights from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago O'Hare,
Miami, JFK, Newark, Tampa and Orlando for most seven-day cruises
departing from Venice, Copenhagen and Barcelona. Bookings must be made
by April 30.
