No matter the controversy or hurt feelings, Cleveland fans just want LeBron James back.

During the fourth quarter of Miami’s 27-point comeback against the Miami Heat forward’s former team Wednesday night, a fan came on to the court wearing a a t-shirt that said “We miss you, 2014 comeback”.

The fan did not appear to be violent, and as security took him off the court, James gave him a pat on the head.

The shirt referred to James’s opt-out clause in his contract, which he can exercise and hit free agency in the summer of 2014. Rumors have swirled as to whether James will return to Miami or join a slew of teams that would love to have the three-time MVP.

The 28-year-old left Cleveland during the summer of 2010, and made his choice on ESPN’s “The Decision,” which crushed Cavaliers fans and made James hated around the NBA.

Now it appears fans are over the incident, and are probably tired of all the losing since James left. Cleveland is now 22-46, and will miss the playoffs for the third straight year.

To his credit, James carried Cleveland to their only NBA Finals appearance in 2007, largely with role players.

Also, the Cavs technically have nearly $40 million in cap space in 2014.
