Fashion: Parsons Festival [Video]

On May 7th Parsons The New School for Design kicked off their two-week festival, which hosts art and design events open to the public. The festival includes student thesis exhibitions, critiques, interactive installations, gallery openings, workshops, and other related special events.

Parsons Fashion Benefit presented 43 collections to a full house yesterday afternoon. The event celebrates the launch of graduating students into the professional design world. Fashion alums include Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, and Isaac Mizrahi.

The Parsons Festival will also showcase Parsons' artists, filmmakers, technologists, architects, photographers, interior designers, and scholars.

The two-week festival will culminate in a block party on Saturday, May 21. The special event will include an interactive photo fashion booth; street projects involving urban garden design and public space; special gest lectures; talks on transdisciplinary design; EATS program sampling; live jazz, and much, much more.
