1. Conrad Grayson, “Revenge”

He may have been killed off of the show, but that doesn’t mean the Hamptons forgot about Conrad Grayson (Henry Czerny). The scheming father, who was the mastermind behind a plane crash that killed hundreds of people, lived life with no regrets. Not only did the businessman frame his wife’s lover for the crime, but he slept with his son’s girlfriend, and gave his daughter the cold shoulder after finding out she wasn’t his. After a life dedicated to ruining the happiness of others, Conrad eventually met his fate when his wife’s scorned lover killed him.

2. Rowan Pope, “Scandal”

If you looked up bad dads in the dictionary, Rowan Pope’s (Joe Morton) picture would be rightfully placed aside the definition. For a long time, Papa Pope was the head of the secret government program B613, which spearheaded secret missions, assassinations, and the torturing of both employees and prisoners. This calculating dad did everything in his power to ruin his daughter’s love life but unfortunately for him, he raised a strong woman. That being said, he also created a monster, as she is now the head of B613.

3. Mikael Mikaelson, “The Originals”

Although Mikael (Sebastian Roché) is technically Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) step-father, he was also a terrible dad to his biological children with the exception of his eldest daughter. As a child, Mikael would constantly beat Klaus and tell him he wasn’t strong or man enough. After savagely beating him and threatening him, Klaus became so enraged that he killed his mother because of her association with his step-father. Mikael may have tried to make a man out of Klaus through all the abuse, but he actually created a beast.

4. Frank Gallagher, “Shameless”

Frank Gallagher

Frank has managed to be M.I.A. for a majority of his kids’ lives and whenever he comes around, things typically get worse. The alcoholic dad has stolen money from his children to get high and drunk and has used others for food, shelter and drugs. In other words, Frank is far from a stand-up guy or an ideal dad.

5. Peter Griffin, “Family Guy”

Peter Griffin
Seth MacFarlane voices the character of Peter Griffin on the Fox series “Family Guy.” Fox

Although he is one of TV’s most hilarious dads, Peter Griffin (Voiced by Seth MacFarlane) is far from a role model. The Quahog, Rhode Island native is known for his inappropriate behavior and constantly getting drunk. It doesn’t help that he occasionally forgets the name of his children and can’t stand his daughter Meg (Voiced by Mila Kunis). Although Peter has good intentions at times, he’s pretty selfish and should have probably opted for the single life rather than a family.

6. King Henry II, “Reign”

King Henry II
Alan Van Sprang played the role of King Henry II on The CW series “Reign.” The CW

When he wasn’t pitting his sons against one another and playing favorites with his children, King Henry II (Alan Van Sprang) was busy cheating on his wife with an endless amount of mistresses. He was also plotting to kill his own son so he could marry his wife and take hold of the British throne. Unfortunately for him, his erratic behavior convinced his heir that he was better off dead, and he was fatally wounded him in a jousting match.

7. Walter White, “Breaking Bad”

Walter White
Bryan Cranston played the role of Walter White on the AMC series “Breaking Bad.” AMC

Although he initially had the best intentions when he decided to turn to a life of crime, Walter White (Bryan Cranston) found himself lost in the drug game. Choosing to sell crystal meth in hopes of securing his family’s financial future after receiving a terminal diagnosis of lung cancer, Walter wanted to make sure his family would be okay without him. However, his time selling drugs distanced him away from his wife and kids, while also turning him into a murderer.

These terrible TV dads may not be real people but the actions of their characters and the pain they inflicted on other people will not be forgotten anytime soon.
