As IBTimes previously reported, consumers spend one-third less on Father’s Day than they do on Mother’s Day, according to figures released by the National Retail Federation (NRF). Father’s Day spending nationwide is projected to be $12.5 billion this year, in comparison to the $19.9 billion spent for Mother’s Day.

Shoppers, on average, are expected to drop $113.80 on gifts for dads, down from $119.84 last year. By contrast, shoppers spent $162.94 on average for Mother’s Day last year.
