Drop whatever you’re doing so you can focus on this photo that the official “Walking Dead” Twitter shared. The AMC account revealed that the cast of the hit zombie series met with the stars of the new spinoff series, “Fear the Walking Dead.” And they have the ultimate selfie to prove it.

The photo was posted Thursday night with the caption, “*mind explodes* @FearTWD meets #TheWalkingDead.” Although it's unclear where the photo was taken, fans can see familiar faces like Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Emily Kinney (Beth), Norman Reedus (Daryl) and Steven Yeun (Glenn) of "The Walking Dead." Meanwhile, “Fear the Walking Dead” newcomers like Cliff Curtis (Travis), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia), Kim Dickens (Madison Clark), Lorenzo James Henrie (Chris) and Mercedes Mason (Ofelia) are also in the group shot. See the picture below:

Unfortunately this is as close to a crossover as fans will get. Although the two shows are set in the same zombie apocalypse universe, they take place at different times. Right now Rick’s group on “The Walking Dead” is a couple years past the end of civilization, seeking shelter in the community of Alexandria in Georgia. Meanwhile on “Fear the Walking Dead,” the series takes place in Los Angeles right before the zombie virus outbreak. The executive producers have said on numerous occasions that they don’t plan on crossing over characters, the latest update coming from San Diego Comic-Con in early July.

“Fear the Walking Dead” showrunner Dave Erickson joked at SDCC that “Walking Dead” showrunner Scott Gimple would “kill” him if he pitched the idea to blend the two shows for a crossover event. On top of that, the groups have a great deal of physical distance between them.

The good news is that fans don’t have to wait long to get their zombie fix. Although “The Walking Dead” Season 6 is not set to premiere until October, “Fear the Walking Dead” will make its debut on AMC on Aug. 23.
