Now that the group is all back together after the action-packed events of Sunday’s “Fear the Walking Dead,” it’s time for them to make a hard and fast push toward their final destination. With the path ahead still unclear, the group will have to place their trust in their least trustworthy companion in Season 2, episode 6, titled “Sicut Cervus.”

Ever since the survivors met him in Season 1 of the AMC drama, Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) has been a man with a plan. Obviously he wants to survive the zombie apocalypse, and viewers previously learned enough about his past to understand why. But the real question is whether his survival plan can actually accommodate Madison (Kim Dickens), Daniel (Rubén Blades) and their families.

According to the episode’s official plot synopsis, conflict will spark as the group approaches their destination in Mexico. With the team needing to be more united than ever, they’re not quite there. The synopsis teases that Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie), who feels alienated from the group after murdering a prisoner, will make a big decision that will have a lasting effect on everyone. Meanwhile, Nick (Frank Dillane) will meet someone new to act as his mother in the zombie apocalypse, despite Madison still being around.

While “Fear the Walking Dead” has always been a show about a family struggling to keep it together, teaser clips from next week’s episode show that the real threat has to do with the grand plan of Strand and Luis (Arturo del Puerto) to smuggle everyone into Mexico. It was previously revealed that the duo had brought only enough money to get two of them into the supposed safe haven, but Strand believes he can negotiate their way through. But that changes when their initial approach doesn’t go as planned.

In the teaser above, Strand and Luis panic when they see their contact approaching the boat with a stranger, something he was apparently not supposed to do. Realizing that there’s more to the Mexico plan than even he knew, Strand instructs Madison to take everyone and hide in the engine room. It’s unclear what happens on deck, but the second teaser clip reveals that the gang hears gunfire.

Although the clips don’t reveal much about Strand’s grand plan, it’s clear that episode 6 will remove any option he had to hide things from Madison and the others now that they’ve finally reached Mexico. With just two episodes left until the midseason break of “Fear the Walking Dead,” it seems episode 6 will go a long way toward making sure the audience is no longer in the dark about the future. The question then becomes what horrors await them now that their life on the yacht seems to be drawing to a close.
