Roger Federer breezed through the semifinals at Indian Wells, but he’ll have much more difficult time against long-time foe Novak Djokovic during Sunday night’s final.

Federer set up the 33rd career meeting with Djokovic by sweeping Alexandr Dolgopolov 6-3 6-1 in the semis. The former No. 1 seeks his fifth title at Indian Wells, and can up his career 17-15 mark over Djokovic.

The Serbian Djokovic needed three sets to best big-serving American John Isner in the semis 7-5 6-7 (2) 6-1. He’s clocked two titles at Indian Wells before.

While he’s posted a steady 6-2 record this season, No. 2 Djokovic has had trouble in the later rounds and thus far failing to win his first title of the year. He already fell to Federer in the semis at Dubai two weeks ago, and suffered the five-set, quarter-final heartbreaker to Stanislas Wawrinka at the Australian Open.

No. 8 Federer makes his third appearance in a final in five tournaments this year, though his only victory came at Dubai over Tomas Berdych in three sets.
