FIFA 13 will be released on September 25. EA Sports

Fans of EA Sports' revered FIFA series can get an early taste of what's in store in the latest version of the video game with an official demo, released on Tuesday. The demo will be available to Xbox 360 Gold members as well as on Sony's Playstation 3 and PC.

The demo for FIFA 13 will be available to download here ahead of the game's official release on September 25. Those using the Playstation Network will have to wait until 9 p.m. ET to get the download.

The demo will allow players to utilize five of Europe's top club teams-Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Manchester City and Milan-in Manchester City's Etihad Stadium. Gamers will be able to access the Skill Games mode as well as Match Day.

The Match Day mode is one of the key upgrades for the release. Real-world news will be collated, allowing actual injuries, suspensions, form and media gossip to be manifested into the game itself through commentary and actual matches.

EA Sports claims that the latest installment of their long-running soccer series gives players "the most realistic soccer experience yet with these key features."

Improvements from last year's edition, according to EA Sports, also include better first-touch control, attacking intelligence as well as an improved dribbling experience inspired by Barcelona and Argentina star Lionel Messi.

FIFA 13 allows users to play with 15,000 players from 500 officially licensed clubs drawn from 30 leagues from around the globe.

The FIFA series has been involved in a long-running battle with Konami's rival Pro evolution Soccer series for dominance of the soccer video game market. However, last year's FIFA 12 was widely considered to have taken a step ahead of the competition.

The release of the demo for FIFA 13 will give gamers the first chance to evaluate this year's EA Sports release before the two giants go head-to-head later this month.
