Fifty Shades of Grey
Kelly Marcel will write the screenplay for "Fifty Shades of Grey," an erotic tale of submission and dominance.

The inner Goddess of nearly every girl who is a "Fifty Shades of Grey" fan is jumping up and down after it was revealed on Thursday that the movie adaptation of E.L James’ S&M romance would be hitting the silver screen in August 2014.

Focus Features took to its Facebook page to announce the movie would but hitting theaters nationwide on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014. Sam Taylor-Johnson is the flick's director, Kelly Marcel is responsible for the screen play and Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, along with James, are the producers.

James has been relatively mum when it comes to revealing any details on the “romance with kink” movie, so Focus Features’ reveal is huge news for fans. But some main questions remain unanswered: namely, who will play the sadistic Christian Grey and irresistible Anastasia Steele.

Sure, everyone has their own fan favorite, but there are a few A-list actors that can be nixed from the lineup. Ryan Gosling is one of Hollywood’s hottest celebs, but it’s unlikely he would agree to play the coveted Grey role since he recently said he would be taking a break from acting.

Thousands of fans took to Facebook to share their thoughts on who should play the kinky Grey. Most of the usual suspects were mentioned: Henry Cavil, Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer, Alexander Skarsgard and Chris Hemsworth.

But fans could be let down. According to a May 7 report from Hollywood Life, Alex Pettyfer of "Magic Mike" is in the running to play the racy role. According to the celebrity news site, he’s already shot a test scene.

One actor’s name that hasn’t been thrown around a lot, but could be a fantastic Christian, is “Lone Rangers” star Armie Hammer. The 6’5’’ actor follows Christian’s description of light eyes and dark hair, not to mention he will be turning 27 in August.

Alexis Bledel is a popular favorite to play Anastasia, but the 31-year-old starlet might be a bit too old to pass for the 22-year-old college student. It wouldn’t be too much of a blow for fans if Bledel weren’t cast as Ana, especially since most are more focused on who is going to portray Grey.

Until then, “laters baby.”
