Kate Middleton and her romance to Prince William has been hugely intriguing for women across the UK and America. There was already a Lifetime movie made about the famous couple, titled "William & Kate," which aired on April 18, and again on Sunday July 31.

The film didn't receive rave reviews; the Guardian's Stephen Bates said of it, "[It's] so bad it's awful, toe-curlingly, teeth-furringly, pillow-bitingly ghastly.

"There are movies so bad that they transcend awfulness. Ed Wood's 'Plan 9 from Outer Space' and 'Glen or Glenda' perhaps, or 'Troll 2.' And then there is 'William and Kate: The Movie,'" he said.

But now, the Hallmark Channel is giving it ago with "William and Catherine: A Royal Romance." Watch a behind-the-scenes video here.

"There's definitely an added challenge to play a real person, especially someone who is so current right now," says newcomer British actress Alice St. Clair, who portrays Kate in the film, and has a slight resemblance to the duchess.

"But I wasn't really put off by it because it wasn't so much about mimicking Kate, but more sort of an essence of Kate and what she represents. Of course I've been watching clips of her and studying her, but not trying to mimic her. We've all got the real thing for that."

Detroit born Dan Amboyer who has appeared on "Law & Order" plays Kate's love interest, Prince William of Wales. The film also shows William's relationship with his mother, Princess Diana.

The film airs on the Hallmark Channel Saturday, Aug. 27.
