After two overtimes, second-seed San Diego State kept fighting and knocked of the pesky Temple Owls, 71-64, and now the Aztecs are on their way to the Sweet 16.
Bill White scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the Aztecs' victory.
Temple received a strong performance from Ramone Moore. The junior guard scored 17 points on seven-for-11 shooting.
It was a tough loss for Fran Dunphy's squad. The Owls fought back from an 11-point first-half deficit to keep it close in the second half.
The Aztecs will face the winner of Cincinnati against Connecticut.
