RTTNews - Monday, the Bank of Finland said in a report that the current account deficit stood at EUR209 million in April, lower than a deficit of EUR307 million in March. This was mainly due to an improvement in the goods surplus.

During the month, the surplus in the goods account increased to EUR869 million from EUR158 million in the preceding month. At the same time, the deficit in the services account worsened to EUR47 million from EUR3 million in March. The income account deficit widened to EUR831 million from EUR287 million, and the current transfer account deficit increased to EUR200 million from EUR175 million.

Meanwhile, the financial account showed a deficit of EUR70 million in April, reversing from a surplus of EUR4.6 billion in March.
