RTTNews - Friday, the Statistics Finland said in a report that the manufacturing turnover dropped 20.6% year-on-year in the December to February period, reflecting a 17.5% decline in domestic sales and a 23.3% fall in export turnover.

During the December-February period, turnover declined the most in the forest industry, by 26.8%. This was followed by a 25.5% fall in the chemical industry turnover and a 22.9% drop in the electronic and electrical industry turnover. However, turnover grew 11.9% in the utilities industry as also 3.6% in the food industry.

In a separate report, the Statistical office said the services turnover dropped 0.9% year-on-year in the three months ended February compared to a 6.5% growth in the three months ended November. In the three months ended February, turnover declined the most in the transport and storage sector, by 7.7%. On the other hand, turnover showed the fastest growth of 8.3% in real estate activities.

Meanwhile, turnover of construction enterprises fell 6.9% in the December to February period from the same period in the previous year. In February, the turnover from construction enterprises slipped 16.8% from last year.
