Manufacturing confidence in Finland increased slightly to minus 33 in April from a revised minus 35 in March, the Confederation of Finnish Industries EK said Monday. However, it remained below its long-term average value of 3. Orders books were weak, while stock of final goods are above average.

In the construction sector, confidence increased to minus 55 in April from a revised minus 61 in March, but still remained weak. The indicator also remained below its long-term average value. Orders books are low, and firms expect a major decrease in workforce in the near future.

In the service sector, the confidence indicator stood at minus 34 in April, its lowest level ever, and also moved down from minus 30 in March. The growth in sales declined, and sales are expected to fall further over the next few months.
