RTTNews - Wednesday, the Statistics Finland announced that the producer price index for manufactured products dropped 8.1% year-over-year in May, compared with a 7% fall in the previous month.

On a monthly basis, producer prices declined 0.4% in May, after a 0.2% drop in the previous month. This was mainly due to fall in metals prices, the stat office said.

In May, export prices decreased 9.8% year-on-year, while import prices declined 11.7%. Month-on-month, export prices were up 0.1%, while import prices fell 1%.

Meanwhile, the wholesale price index or WPI dropped 8.9% annually in May, compared to a 6.9% fall in April. The WPI declined 0.9% compared to the preceding month.
