RTTNews - Tuesday, the Statistics Finland said in a report that the wages and salaries sum rose 2.2% year-over-year in April, compared with a 0.8% fall in the previous month.

For the February to April period, wages and salaries sum dropped 0.3% compared to the same period of the previous year. A year ago, wages and salaries were up 8.7%.

The growth in the wages and salaries sum slowed down in almost all main industries in the February to April period, the statistical office said.

At the same time, the wages and salaries sum in private educational sector rose 7.8%, while the public sector wages and salaries grew 5.5%. Manufacturing wages and salaries sum dropped 8%.
