RTTNews - Friday, the Bank of Finland said the current account balance posted a surplus of EUR 0.4 billion in June, a change from EUR 1.14 billion deficit recorded in May. A year ago, there was a surplus of EUR 1.1 billion in the current account.

The current account surplus in June was made up of an increase in goods trade surplus to EUR 455 million from EUR 220 million recorded in May. In addition, the balance on income turned to a surplus of EUR 114 million from a deficit of EUR 1.13 billion.

The deficit on current transfers contracted to EUR 88 million in June from EUR 190 million in May, while that on the services widened to EUR 47 million from EUR 45 million.

The financial account balance turned to a surplus of EUR 2.5 billion in June from a deficit of EUR 501 million in May.
