RTTNews - Tuesday, a report by Statistics Finland said the jobless rate stood at 9.1% in June, down from 10.9% in May. Economists expected the rate to be 9.4%. However, the jobless rate climbed when compared to the 6.8% rate seen in the same month last year.

In June, the number of unemployed persons increased to 255,000 from 195,000 in the previous year. At the same time, the number of employed persons decreased to 2.56 million from 2.67 million last year. The labor force also declined, to 2.82 million from 2.86 million seen in the previous year. The labor force participation rate edged down to 70.1% from 71.5% last year.
