RTTNews - Turnover in Finnish manufacturing sector dropped 29.4% year-on-year in the March to May period, the Statistics Finland said Friday.

Domestic sales contracted 25.7% and export turnover dropped 32.2% from one year ago.

In the March to May period, turnover grew only in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 6.3%. In most manufacturing industries turnover contracted by over 20%. The fall was fastest in the chemical industry, 34.5%. Turnover in the metal industry plunged 33.6%.

In separate reports, the statistical agency said services turnover fell 6.2% and construction turnover slipped 16.8% year-on-year in the March to May period.

In May, construction enterprises' turnover contracted 22.2% from the previous year.

The sales volume of construction enterprises fell 17.8% year-on-year during March to May. In May, construction sales volume dropped 22.3% from the previous year.
