RTTNews - Finnish retail sales were down 0.9% in April from the previous year, a report from the Statistics Finland showed Monday. Meanwhile, wholesale trade dropped 21.4% and motor vehicle sales plunged 40.7%. Accordingly, total trade showed an annual fall of 19% in April.

For January to April, retail trade diminished 1.6%. At the same time, auto sales and wholesale trade declined 31.8% and 17.5%, respectively. Total trade, thus recorded an annual 15.7% decline during the first four months of 2009.
