Fitch Ratings on Thursday downgraded six global banks as part of its review of the ratings of the world's largest financial institutions.

The banks downgraded were:

- Bank of America Corp: to 'A' from 'A+';

- Barclays plc: to 'A' from 'AA-';

- BNP Paribas: to 'A+' from 'AA-';

- Credit Suisse AG: to 'A' from 'AA-';

- Deutsche Bank AG: to 'A+' from 'AA-';

- The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc: to 'A' from 'A+';
