The Flash
“The Flash” Season 2, episode 20 will see Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) work to get The Flash his powers back before they’re taken out by another DC Comics villain. The CW

The main hero on the CW’s “The Flash” isn’t feeling like his usual self these days after losing his powers in a fight with his greatest villain yet. To fix the problem, the entire team will have to risk everything to get their hero back in time to stop a very personal villain from destroying them all in Season 2, episode 20, titled “Rupture.”

The latest episode of “The Flash” saw Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) readjust to life without his speedster powers. The episode ended without the hero getting his powers back, but he did come up with an idea as to how he’ll do it. After rescuing Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh), the scientist agreed to help him by recreating the particle accelerator explosion that originally gave him his powers.

In episode 20, the people closest to Barry will debate the merit of this incredibly dangerous plan. Among the more vocal members against subjecting Barry to another explosion is his father, Henry Allen (John Wesley Shipp). In a teaser trailer for the upcoming episode, below, Henry returns to remind everyone that the last time Barry was hit with a particle accelerator explosion, he was in a coma for 9 months. However, the scarlet speedster’s unofficial adoptive father, Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), thinks differently. Joe has been a member of Team Flash for a while, while Henry has been kind of an absentee father. As a result, he’s aware of the danger that Zoom (Teddy Sears) poses to the entire world. Armed with a different understanding of how Barry thinks, Joe knows that getting him his powers back is the only way to save the city.

Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) will be facing a family issue of his own. Using his newfound vibing powers, he discovered that a somewhat familiar meta-human has come through the breach between Earth-1 and Earth-2 and wants revenge. Earlier this year, Cisco and Barry took a trip to Earth-2 where they encountered Cisco’s doppelganger from the alternate universe, the villain Reverb. Sadly, their actions led to Reverb’s death at the hands of Zoom. Now, the brother of his doppelganger is joining the fray as another DC Comics supervillain, Rupture (Nicholas Gonzalex), who obviously looks like Cisco’s Earth-1 brother, Dante.

Despite the fact that he should really be upset with Zoom for killing his brother, somehow the dark speedster has tricked Rupture into believing that he needs to take out his anger on Cisco, Barry and the rest of the team.

“The Flash” airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. EDT on the CW. Check out the teaser trailer for episode 20 below and comment your thoughts or tweet them to @TylerMcCarthy.
