Thanks to Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) time-travelling speeds, Season 1 of “The Flash” had enough room for multiple, parallel universes. But does the show have room for more than one Flash? Fans will find out in Season 2. The CW series announced Wednesday that Keiynan Lonsdale has been added to the cast for the superhero show’s sophomore run to the play the role of Wally West – a.k.a. Kid Flash.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Keiynan Lonsdale, best known for his roles as Uriah in “Insurgent” and Ollie in “Dance Academy,” has signed on to play Wally West in Season 2.

"Just like when we met [star] Grant [Gustin] for the first time, we instantly knew Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement. “We are so excited to be bringing this much-beloved character onto the show.”

According to a Tweet posted by Lonsdale Wednesday, the actor is pretty excited himself.

Who is Wally West? Comic book fans will know Wally as the nephew of Iris West (Candice Patton). In the comics, Wally is a Flash super-fan and comes to visit his aunt in Central City. Then, a lightning strike results in him gaining the same powers as Barry and becoming Kid Flash!

Wally will not be the only new face next season. It was previously reported that “The Flash” was seeking an actress to play the role of Patty Spivot. Comic book readers know Patty as the forensic scientist, specializing in blood, who ends up falling for Barry while working with him at the Central City Police Department. However, in the CW series the character will join the team as Joe’s new partner, replacing Eddie. Patty will become the first major female cop character on the show. Shantel VanSanten (“One Tree Hill”) will play Patty.

S.T.A.R. Labs is getting crowded. How will Barry, Iris and co. handle all of the new characters? Fans will have to wait to find out. Season 2 of "The Flash" will premiere on Oct. 6 on the CW.
