Earth-19 Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is harboring a secret of his own.

The trailer for Season 3, episode 5 of “The Flash” reveals that Earth-19 Wells is someone Team Flash shouldn’t trust right away. At the 14-second mark of the preview clip, Earth-19 Wells is seen telling himself: “Nobody seems to ask as to why I’m here.”

In last night’s episode, Earth-2 Wells (Cavanagh) sent an “intergalactic IQ test” to all his doppelgängers in the multiverse in an attempt to look for an equally brilliant Wells who would be willing to help Team Flash fix things on Earth-1. Among all the Wells who had cracked the “complex algorithmic cryptogram,” Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) handpicked Earth-19 Wells because they found him “nice and not evil.”

The trailer for next week’s episode, however, seems to suggest that’s really not the case. Cisco notices that there’s something suspicious about Earth-19 Wells, so he goes through his stuff without permission. Unfortunately for Cisco, a disappointed Earth-19 Wells catches him in the act and asks him: “Is trust not something that you have on this Earth?”

Though Earth-19 Wells’ true motive for coming to Earth-1 remains unclear, it’s possible that the character will be revealed as a villain — just like the show’s original Wells who ultimately outed himself as Eobard Thawne, also known as the Reverse-Flash.

Since the start of the series, Cavanagh has already played several incarnations of Wells, including Eobard Thawne/the Reverse-Flash, Earth-1 Wells, Earth-2 Wells and Hannibal Bates’ version of Wells.

“I get to invent a number of iterations of them. I believe this will be my fifth one, and it is a privilege,” the Canadian actor told Variety a couple of days after Season 3 premiered.

Although Earth-19 Wells has secret agenda, Grant Gustin told IGN earlier this month that the latest version of Wells adds more humor to the show. “Tom Cavanagh is playing a new version of Wells which has presented an opportunity for a lot of comedy, more so than in the past,” said Gustin, who plays Barry Allen/The Flash on the CW series.

“The Flash” Season 3, episode 5, entitled “Monster,” airs on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 8 p.m. on The CW. Check out the synopsis of the episode below:

“Desperate to understand what is happening to her, Caitlin visits her mother, Dr. Tannhauser (Susan Walters), a renowned biomedical researcher, in the hopes that her mother can provide some answers about Caitlin’s growing meta-human powers. However, when Dr. Tannhauser treats her daughter like a test subject, Caitlin grows cold and brings up past wounds causing the two to have a major blowout. Meanwhile, after a mysterious new meta-human attacks Central City, Barry tries to convince Julian (Tom Felton) to let him assist on the case.”
