Black Flash is returning to CW’s DC TV universe, but this time, he won’t just be appearing on “The Flash.”

“You might be seeing him on multiple shows,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said at the Television Critics Association’s press tour on Sunday, Jan. 8, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Hunter Zolomon , a.k.a. Zoom, was transformed into the Black Flash by Time Wraiths after Barry (Grant Gustin) defeated him in the Season 2 finale. Although he was carted off to parts unknown at the end of the episode, he is set to come back to wreak havoc.

Black Flash basically serves as a Grim Reaper for speedsters in the comics, and it seems that CW’s version is going to be the same. “[Black Flash is] a classic character, and we have storylines on several shows that fit having him return,” Collider quoted Kreisberg as saying. “There’s something so scary about him, even scarier than when he was just a man, because now he is the Grim Reaper, he is like the devil, and how do you stop the devil? So it presents an interesting challenge for the heroes of the respective shows in which he appears.”

When asked whether or not Sears will reprise his role, Kreisberg said: “I’m not sure. Teddy is pretty busy with [‘24: Legacy’].”

Although Sears is one of the main cast members in the upcoming FOX series, Sears is still hoping that he could return to “The Flash” to play the character again. “It would be a lot of fun to drop back into that world,” Sears told TV Guide, when asked if he would like to come back to the CW series.

The 39-year-old actor, however, admitted that it would be a little complicated if “The Flash” asks him back to reprise the role. “It’s funny — now I belong to FOX … there are lots of people that would have to give thumbs up [before that can happen]. But I really hope so,” Sears said.

“The Flash” Season 3 returns to CW from its midseason hiatus with an all-new episode on Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 8 p.m. EST.
