An 18-year-old from Boynton Beach, Florida was arrested on charges of sexual assault, burglary and false imprisonment after allegedly raping his neighbor at knife point.

After the assault, police reports obtained by the Palm Beach Post also stated that the teen, Timothy Adam Walding, offered to make it up to her by doing yardwork.

The arrest report said Walding allegedly broke into his neighbor’s home wearing a mask, while she slept and woke her up by holding a knife to her throat. He then tied the victim’s hands to the bed and sexually assaulted her.

Afterward, Waldman stayed at the woman’s home and asserted to her that she knew him, according to the arrest report obtained by the newspaper. Sometime later, the woman realized Walding lived nearby.

He eventually untied her and allowed her to step outside for a cigarette, reported New York Daily News.

“You really should deadbolt your door because I didn't really want to do this, but I had to do it,” Walding allegedly told the woman.

The report noted he asked the victim “if he could make this up to her by doing some yard work or by fixing something around her house.” She, however, declined the offer.

Walding also said he didn't want to kill her because he "could not imagine leaving two kids without a mother" as his own mother had died when he was 12-years-old.

He added he was joining the military so "it would not be awkward" living next to each other, the Daily Mail reported.

The victim told the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office that she continued a dialogue with Walding so that he wouldn’t hurt her. Walding went back to his home after about an hour and a half and the woman went inside her residence and called for help, the report said.

The teen is currently behind bars at Palm Beach County Jail without bond.

There have been other instances in which teenagers have broken into homes and tried to sexually assault their residents. An 18-year-old was arrested in August for sexually assaulting and attempting to rape a 71-year-old woman in New Jersey after breaking into her home and robbing her.

John Santiago allegedly broke into the woman’s home, woke her up and engaged in sexual contact with her after stealing money from her purse. He then attempted to rape her while she resisted, prosecutors said.

In another incident, Dallas police arrested an 18-year-old man after he was accused of raping a 67-year-old woman multiple times over the course of 11 hours in September. The teen, identified as Corey Davis was seen on video breaking into the woman's apartment in the Lake Highlands area in the middle of the night and leaving late in the morning the next day.

The woman was found by a neighbor half an hour after the teenager left and the police was alerted.
