Floyd Mayweather Jr., Shane Mosley Join Forces For Charity

The last time Floyd Money Mayweather Jr. and Sugar Shane Mosley raised a large sum of money, they were facing each other in a highly anticipated pay-per-view fight, one that ended with Mayweather picking apart the seasoned veteran Mosley.

On May 3, two days before the two men face-off in separate fights on the same pay-per-view card, Mosley and Mayweather will join forces to battle a shared rival: poverty, education inequality and violence.

Both of their charities -- the Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation and Sugar Shane Mosley's Diamond's Love Foundation -- will present an entertainment and fashion show that will take place at the MGM Grand's Talent Pool. The event is being billed as Spring of Style. The money raised will go to each of their charities and a local charity that is to be determined.

The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation aims at empowering and encouraging community alliances, impacting youth leadership, strengthening family foundations, entrepreneurism and education in communities. Sugar Shane Mosley's Diamond's Love Foundation was created to honor his nephew, Diamond J. Johnson, and it's focused on implementing a child car seat safety program, establishing programs to assist single fathers, holding youth summer boxing camps and establishing centers for children at risk.

I am committed to giving back to the community and this fundraiser will assist my foundation's continued efforts to do so. Shane and I are both fighting for our careers in the ring, said Mayweather according to a RingTV report. But we are blessed to be in a position to help those less fortunate and support causes outside the ring too. I know the entire boxing world will be in town for my fight, and I expect a great turnout for the event.

Tickets for the event are priced at $51.60 and $77.40 according to the Mayweather Jr. Foundation's website. The first price pays for entracne to the event, the cash donation bar and hors d'oeurves. The second price pays for entry to the event, wrist band for an open bar, one event program and hors d'oeurves. Music will be chosen by world famous DJ Clue and DJ Nina Drake.
