FXstreet.com (Sydney) - The AUD gained on the Kiwi once again and is trading at 1.2707. The pair had earlier opened the local session at 1.2650, nearly fifty cents higher than yesterday's session. The AUD/NZD hit an intraday high of 1.2723.

The AUD gained on most currencies after comments by the deputy of the RBA fuelled expectations of an interest rate hike in December. Ric Batellino said that the Australian economy had entered into an upswing that could last for several years. This could mean that interest rates could be raised for a third consecutive time when the RBA meets in December.
