Among the best and brightest business minds and tech stars in this year’s edition of Fortune’s 40 Under 40, there are industry stalwarts, but also fast-rising newcomers and disruptors. Household names abound—the Zuckerbergs of the world—but Fortune’s list is sure to turn a few heads as well. The Olsen twins, those girls from the obnoxious tweener videos and, later, glaring TMZ footage—really?

One may discard the Olsens, but they must not forget that Ashley and Mary Kate also run a wildly successful fashion line, in addition to their wildly public social lives. Yup, Fortune’s list is an all-encompassing glossary of the current business power players.

While the Olsens and Zuckberg are familiar to anyone with a TV or a computer, other names on Fortune’s list may puzzle you, which, if you’ve read this far, you’ve learned is not grounds to dismiss them as low-level rubes.

Who is Brian Chesky? one might ask. To which we’ll respond, “Oh, just the founder of shelter-sharing website Airbnb, recently valued at $2 billion,” according to Fortune.

What about Yoshi Tanaka? Who's that guy? Well, Yoshi founded social-gaming company GREE from his apartment in 2004. It now pulls in $2.5 billion in revenue.
