‘The Fosters’ Season 5, Episode 3 Sneak Peek Introduces Stef’s First Girlfriend

“The Fosters” Season 5, episode 3 will introduce Stef’s (Teri Polo) first girlfriend, Tess.

In the sneak peek released by Freeform for “Contact,” Stef and Lena (Sherri Saum) tell their kids that they will be inviting the neighbors to their home the night after. Callie (Maia Mitchell) tells the couple that she and Aaron (Elliot Fletcher) couldn’t make it since they have a date the next day. Aaron surprises Callie by buying the movie tickets for her online, and Callie doesn’t seem pleased that Aaron bought them without asking what movie she wants to see.

Jude (Hayden Byerly) also tells Stef and Lena that he and his boyfriend, Noah (Kalama Epstein), have a date on the same night that the new neighbors will be invited. Lena tells Jude that he can just invite Noah for dinner at the Adams Foster household.

Jesus (Noah Centineo), who is still recovering from his surgery, is confused why it seems important that everyone should be home when the neighbors arrive. This is when Lena tells everyone that the neighbors that will be moving in is someone that Stef went to high school with.

Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) comments how it’s such a small world, and Lena shocks everyone when she says that one of their visitors is Tess (Kristen Ariza), Stef’s first girlfriend from several years back. An awkward encounter between Lena and Tess may be expected in episode 3, and it is possible that Stef may be tempted to hook up with her ex-girlfriend. After all, Lena did a similar thing in Season 4 when she felt especially close to Monte (Annika Marks).

Meanwhile, another sneak peek from “The Fosters” Season 5, episode 3 confirms that Mariana will serve as a third wheel in Callie and Aaron’s date. But the trio will not head to the theaters. Instead, they will watch a live match. Aaron teases Callie that she should consider joining since she’s strong and the uniform suits her.

“The Fosters” Season 5 also stars David Lambert as Brandon, Amanda Leighton as Emma, Danny Nucci as Mike and more. Episode 3 will air on Tuesday at 8 p.m. EDT on Freeform.
