While struggling with his relationship with Noah, Jude will also help Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) spearhead an underground school newspaper. It’s unclear why Mariana will do something like this again since her every other attempts at acting as the school’s voice have put her at risk in the past.

Elsewhere, Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Brandon (David Lambert) will try to support each other by exchanging words of advice. Brandon is thinking about giving his music career up, and Grace (Meg DeLacy), his girlfriend, is not very supportive about it. Callie will encourage Brandon to not put an end to his lifelong dream just because things are not working out well for him at the moment.

Callie will also go out on a date with Aaron (Elliot Fletcher), and this will serve as one of the rare times that they would go out publicly. Callie was previously in a relationship with AJ (Tom Williamson), and she was also linked to Brandon.

Meanwhile, Jesus (Noah Centineo) will continue fighting his demons. Since his surgery, Jesus has become extremely hot-headed. In the teaser released by Freeform for episode 3, Jesus comes home and destroys the walls and decor in Brandon’s room since he’s upset with him. Lena (Sherri Saum) tells her wife, Stef (Teri Polo), that she doesn’t know what to do with Jesus anymore. She also admits that she’s become very scared of him. Lena and Stef would have to come to an agreement on whether or Jesus could still stay with them at home.

“The Fosters” Season 5, episode 3 will air on Freeform on July 25 at 8 p.m. EDT.
