Wednesday, the French statistical office INSEE said consumer price index or CPI rose 0.1% year-over-year in April, slower than the 0.3% increase in the previous month. This was the lowest annual inflation since 1957. Economists were looking an increase of 0.2%.
The consumer price index for all households rose 0.2% month-on-month in April. The monthly inflation rate came in line with economists' expectations.
The harmonized index of consumer prices increased 0.1% annually in April, slower than the economists' expectations of 0.2%. The HICP rose 0.1% compared to the preceding month.
